FUCK YOU I'M LEAVING HOME

10k performing at Blip Festival

Alright, you’ve had a breather after Blip and now it’s time to party. This month, fresh from Blip Fest, we’ve got Ten Thousand Free Men and their Families coming all the way from Sydney, Australia with some real hardcore action. Nullsleep is back for another round life threatening digital madness. And, of course, we have Philly’s own SKGB bringing some fresh beats sure to make you move. Making his return to Philly is NO CARRIER doing visuals all night long. Before the madness gets started we have Patrick Todd giving a presentation on ‘Tools for Exploring NES Audio,’ so make sure to get here early to check that out.

Be sure to RSVP using the link on the sidebar for $5 entry!

We’re super excited to announce this month’s lineup, as its been in the works for a while. Read the bios from the artists below and you’ll see why this just might be the most emo 8static ever:

Starscream is Damon Hardjowirogo and George Stroud of New York City, two italo disco obsessors who make emotional music with Commodore 64′s and Nintendo Game Boy’s.

Hovering in the internet somewhere between Portland and Chicago, Greenleaf is an electronic pen-pal collaboration between Asif Siddiky and Drew Fernando. Inspired by a mutual love for disturbing cinematic moments, their music pairs rich, dream-like atmospheres with sharp edges and crushing beats.

Bear & Walrus is Chad Clikeman and Zachary Reese. They blend 8-bit music with piano power ballads, noisy post-rock and good intentions.

enso is Alex Bond, a live visualist and illustration student from NY currently living in Philly. He enjoys art nouveau, old computers, outer space, and good vibes. His work has been exhibited at the Esther M. Klein Gallery in Philadelphia and at the Playlist show at iMAL in Brussels.

OK, you know the deal – check out the music and links on the left and make sure to RSVP for reduced admission. See you in a few weeks! :)

Gonna be another great month at 8static!

We’re going to get things started with an exclusive screening of the first part of the new 2 Player Productions documentary on Minecraft! Director Paul Owens and Publicist Jenn de la Vega will be on hand to answer your questions and tell you more about their fundraising process through a very successful Kickstarter campaign!

We also have a great lineup of music and visuals, like usual! The one and only Bit Shifter is back from NYC! And it’s about damn time that Kris Keyser finally plays 8static! Joining them are The Shortsleeves, making 8static the Philly stop in their East Coast tour.

Be sure to RSVP using the link on the left to get in for just $5. Be sure to check out all of the artists’ music and visuals as well – links also on the left sidebar.

I admit it. I couldn’t come up with a better post title. I’m just too damn excited about everyone involved in next month’s 8static!

First up, we have crashfaster from San Francisco in his 8static debut. Also making his 8static debut is Princeton’s own Decktonic, who has been rocking open mic with his DS-10 for quite a few months now. Thankfully minusbaby is back again from NYC, with noteNdo on visuals all night long. Before the main show and open mic there is a talk on Creative Commons and licensing your music by Bit Shifter. Make sure to check the Events page for a lengthy description.

Like usual, be sure to RSVP using the link on the left to get in for just $5. Be sure to check out all of the artists’ music and visuals as well – links also on the left sidebar.

See you in a few weeks!
